Intel® Pentium® D Processor, Intel® Pentium® Processor Extreme Edition, Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor and Intel® Core™2 Duo Extreme Processor X6800∆ Thermal and Mechanical Design Guidelines (TMDG)
For the Intel® Pentium® D Processor 800∆ and 900∆ Sequences, Intel® Pentium® Processor Extreme Edition 840∆, 955∆, 965∆, Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 6x1∆ Sequence and Intel® Core™2 Duo Extreme Processor X6800∆.
The goal of this document is to provide an understanding of these thermal characteristics and discuss guidelines for meeting the thermal requirements imposed on single processor systems using the Intel® Pentium® D processor 800∆ and 900∆ Sequences, the Intel® Pentium® processor Extreme Edition 840∆, 955∆, 965∆, Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 6x1∆ Sequence and the Intel® Core™2 Duo Extreme Processor X6800∆. † Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology) requires a computer system with an Intel® Processor supporting HT Technology and an HT Technology enabled chipset, BIOS, and operating system. Performance will vary depending on the specific hardware and software you use. See www.intel.com/products/ht/hyperthreading_more.htm for more information including details on which processors support HT Technology. Δ Intel® processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See www.intel.com/products/processor_number/ for details.
