Yes. The Intel® Matrix Storage Manager 5.x driver supports chipsets with ICH5R, ICH6R, ICH6RW, ICH6M, and ICH7R capabilities.
Features provided are dependant upon the chipset used. As a result, Intel® Matrix Storage Manager 5.x will provide the same RAID features on ICH6R as Intel® Application Accelerator 4.0; however, users may find it beneficial to upgrade to take advantage of improvements in Intel® Matrix Storage Manager 5.x, including a streamlined user interface.
Note: Intel® Matrix Storage Manager v5.5 is the last version that provides support for ICH5R.
