Note: The Intel® Ultra ATA Storage Driver has been replaced with the Intel® Application Accelerator. We recommend that you consider using the Intel Application Accelerator moving forward.
There are two driver versions available: English-only support, and multi-language support. Both versions use the following installation method.
| Before attempting to install the Intel® Ultra ATA Storage Driver, make sure your system meets the following requirements: |
- You must install the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility prior to installing the Intel® Ultra ATA Storage Driver so that the Intel chipset is properly recognized by the operating system. Note: The Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility is not required on systems using Windows* NT* 4.0.
- Your motherboard must have a supported chipset.
- You must have either Windows* Millennium Edition (Me), Windows 98 Second Edition (SE), Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows NT* 4.0.

- Download the Intel® Ultra ATA Storage Driver from the Intel website. Save the file to a known location on your computer's hard drive.
- The installation program will automatically launch from this location.
- Click "Next" at the Welcome screen.
- Read the license agreement and click "Yes" to continue.
- Click "Next" to install the driver in the default folder location.
- Click "Next" to create the default Program Folder.
- The driver files will now be installed. When finished installing, choose the "Yes" to reboot option and click "Finish" to restart your computer. The driver should now be loaded.
