Microsoft no longer requires that drivers be DirectX* certified (or "Stamped"). Microsoft now suggests that graphics drivers go through WHQL (Windows* Hardware Quality Labs) certification, which includes many DirectX-specific tests. In order to save time and deliver graphics drivers to our customers faster, we are no longer getting the graphics drivers DirectX stamped. This is why the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (DXDiag.exe) shows that the drivers are not DirectX certified.
All versions of the Intel® Extreme Graphics Drivers released on our website are WHQL certified.
This change in Microsoft's certification policy is documented on Microsoft's
†web site.
