Half-Life* 2 Game Displays Warning and Has Reduced Graphics Detail

Symptom(s):

When the Half-Life* 2 game starts a warning message displays:

"Unsupported Video Card
Your video hardware does not meet the minimum requirements that we have set for the game. If you choose to continue and run the game anyway, you could have problems with stability or performance in the game. We strongly recommend that you update your video drivers to the latest version available from your driver vendor."

Two choices are available on this message: Continue Anyway or Cancel.

In the game, textures display but have reduced detail level and some objects will not be displayed until the player moves closer to the objects.

Cause:

For full texture detail, the game requires a graphics adapter with hardware pixel shader support. This is not a supported hardware feature of these products.

Solution:

The game will play when selecting the Continue Anyway option. The level of texture detail displayed in this game is reduced due to the lack of hardware pixel shader support in these graphics controllers. This game requires features that are not currently implemented by the referenced graphics hardware.

Additional information about this game may be available at the game manufacturer's website. .
