Software Requirements
If running Windows* 98, Windows* 95, and Windows NT* 4.0 or Windows* 2000, use the Print Station software to print from networked computers. Earlier versions of Windows, MS-DOS*, Linux* and Windows Millennium Edition* (ME) will not work with the Print Station software. Windows 2000 requires the latest software to be used.

Networking Protocol Requirements
The Print Station Setup program checks your networking components to make sure your computer is able to print using the Print Station. It checks to make sure the NetBEUI or TCP/IP protocol is installed. If neither protocol is installed:

  • On Windows* 98 and Windows* 95, the software installs the NetBEUI protocol.
  • On Windows NT* 4.0, add the NetBEUI protocol before installing the Print Station software:
    1. Open Network in the Control Panel and click the Protocols tab.
    2. Click Add and select the NetBEUI protocol.
