Intel® Play™ QX3™ Computer Microscope
Microsoft Windows* 2000 and XP Software Update [English Only]

A downloadable software update is available for the Intel® Play™ QX3™ Computer Microscope. This update adds support for the Microsoft Windows* 2000 and XP operating systems.

This software update is only available in the English language and is only supported on English versions of the Windows operating systems.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you have purchased the "QX3+" version of the microscope product and only need Microsoft Windows* 2000 support, you do not need the Software Update. The QX3+ CD already includes support for Windows 2000. There are no additional benefits in obtaining the software update download or CD.

If you have already obtained a copy of the Software Update CD for Windows 2000 & XP, you do not need the Update Download. There are no additional benefits in obtaining the software update download. Please review the differences listed between the Update Download and Update CD.
System requirements for this download are:
  • Broadband Internet Connection (Highly recommended due to download's large file size of 94MB)
  • 450 MB of free hard disk space to save and install this download (250MB will be freed after installation)
  • USB enabled computer
  • Microsoft Windows* 2000 or Windows* XP
  • 200 MHz Intel® Pentium® or Celeron™ processor or faster
  • Minimum 32 MB RAM
  • Quad speed (4x) or faster CD-Rom drive
  • SVGA 800 x 600 video display resolution @ 16 bit color
  • 16 bit Windows-compatible sound device
  • Microsoft DirectX* 8.0 or higher (Customers with Windows* 2000 can download the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft's web site. Customers with Windows* XP do not need to update DirectX. Windows* XP already includes DirectX 8.1)
  • Standard keyboard and mouse
Differences between Update Download and Update CD:
  • Update download does not contain collection samples
  • Update download requires DirectX* 8.0 (or higher) prior to installing download.

If you are experiencing problems in downloading the updated software, your web browser may have a problem finding our FTP site, or there could be an issue with your FTP proxy or firewall, or a server. Try clearing your browser cache and going directly to our ftp site to download the software:

If you have low-speed or dial-up Internet connection, please consider using a download manager. A download manager will allow you to download part of a large file and resume the rest of the download without losing your progress after a lost connection.
