Intel® Desktop Board D850GB
How Do I Configure the D850GB for ACPI S3 Support?

The Intel® Desktop Board D850GB supports ACPI S3. To enable S3, do the following:

  1. Ensure that your D850GB has BIOS P05 or later.
  2. Boot-up the computer and press "F2" to run Setup.
  3. Press "F9" to Load Default Values.
  4. Go to "Advanced", "Boot Configuration", and select "Yes" to "Reset Config Data".
  5. Go to "Power", then "ACPI" and select "S3 State" for "ACPI Suspend State".
  6. Press "F10" to Save and Exit.
  7. Install an ACPI compliant Operating System (O/S) like Windows* Millennium, Windows* 2000, or Windows* 98SE.
  8. Install the latest INF Update Utility (PC99 Certified) for the Intel® 850 chipset.
  9. If you plan to take advantage of the new SSE2 instructions for the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor, you MUST install Microsoft DirectX* 8.0.
  10. Verify that the O/S (for example, Windows Millennium) has properly detected your monitor. (If not, search for a Windows Millennium driver for your monitor).
  11. Update the video adapter driver with the latest video driver.
  12. Go to Control Panel, select Power Options, and then select Advanced. In Advanced, for the option "When I press the power button on my computer", select "Stand By".
NOTE: ACPI S3 State is only supported in the following O/S's: Windows* Millennium, Windows* 2000, and Windows* 98SE.
