Intel® Desktop Board D945GCCR
System Won't Boot Without Jumper

Some revisions of the Intel® Desktop Board D945GCCR include an onboard header with a yellow jumper which was used for debug purposes during the engineering stages. The header is located near the four black Serial ATA (SATA) ports.

This header is included on the following board revisions (AA #s):

  • D78647-301 and earlier
  • D78645-301 and earlier
  • D86518-301 and earlier
The header was removed in later boards.

If you have a board with this header and the jumper is removed from the header pins, the board will fail to boot.  Ensure the jumper is connected to Pins 1 & 2, as shown in the image above.
