Intel and OEM Support Intel markets desktop boards into the retail channel and to various computer manufacturers known as OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). OEMs may further customize the desktop boards to their own specifications and may also integrate the boards with other system components (chassis, processor, memory, etc.) For this reason, Intel does not provide technical or warranty support for a board distributed by an OEM. If you have an OEM board, you must contact the OEM directly or the place where you purchased your system for support. The OEM or the place of purchase will be most familiar with your configuration and its integration of both hardware and software.
Finding Your Board’s BIOS ID When you turn on a computer that contains an Intel board, you will see the board’s BIOS ID code in the upper left corner of the screen. If your computer displays the Intel® logo screen during boot, bypass this screen by pressing the Esc key to allow the display of the BIOS ID.
You can also find the BIOS ID in BIOS Setup:
- During boot, enter the BIOS setup by pressing F2.
- On the Main menu, look for BIOS Version.
- Press F10 to exit.
Example BIOS IDs for Desktop Boards Intel Desktop Boards use BIOS ID patterns that begin like this:
NL94510J.86A.0029 or RL86510A.86A.0089.P21
Example BIOS IDs for Server Boards Intel Server Boards use BIOS ID patterns that begin like this:
SE7520AF20.86B or ASPN1.86B
Important The first TWO sections of the BIOS ID you see on your computer must EXACTLY match the BIOS ID codes listed here:
If your board’s BIOS ID is not included on the code list, then your desktop board was manufactured for a specific OEM. Please contact that manufacturer for help with your board.
