If you need to pass kernel parameter in order to boot the system successfully:
- Press <space_bar> in the boot loader screen
- Press ‘e’ to edit
- Append the kernel parameter to the line beginning with kernel
- Press ‘b’ to boot
If you need to pass the kernel parameter every time the system boots:
- Open /boot/grub.conf file in a text editor
- Append the kernel parameter to the line beginning with kernel
Example of boot loader file (appended kernel parameter ‘pci=nommconf’ :
