CrossFire technology is a recently introduced product from ATI Technologies designed to dramatically improve the graphics performance of hardware and software applications designed for gamers and other high-end users.
The following Intel products are compatible with ATI's CrossFire technology.
- Intel® Desktop Board DP45SG
- Intel® Desktop Board DX48BT2
- Intel® Desktop Board DX38BT
- Intel® Desktop Board D975XBX2
- Intel® Desktop Board D975XBX
- Intel® Desktop Board D955XBK
- Intel® Desktop Board D955XCS

Specifically, it is the boards’ support of multiple PCI Express* x16 slots, along with support in the chipset and BIOS, that makes these boards compatible with CrossFire technology.
The PCI Express slots are implemented as follows:
- Intel® Desktop Board DP45SG - two PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots
- Intel® Desktop Boards DX38BT and DX48BT2 – two PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots and one PCI Express 1.1 x4 slot
- Intel® Desktop Boards D975XBX and D975XBX2 – primary slot at x16 or 8x; two secondary slots (one at x8 and one at x4)
- Intel® Desktop Boards D955XBK and D955XCS – two PCI Express slots (one at x16 and one x4)
