A "Zero-channel" RAID adapter is a PCI RAID controller that doesn't have any
SCSI channels on board. Instead, it is designed to use the on-board SCSI
channels of the Server Board to implement a cost-effective Hardware RAID
solution.
In order to properly implement a zero-channel RAID solution with the Intel® N440BX (T440BX) Server Boards:
- The card must be installed in PCI Slot three.
- You must set the [SCSI Option ROM Scan] to Disable in BIOS setup.
- Do not use the Symbios* SCSI Drivers for
the operating system being loaded.
