Intel® T440BX Server Board
Zero-channel RAID Overview

A "Zero-channel" RAID adapter is a PCI RAID controller that doesn't have any SCSI channels on board. Instead, it is designed to use the on-board SCSI channels of the Server Board to implement a cost-effective Hardware RAID solution.

In order to properly implement a zero-channel RAID solution with the Intel® N440BX (T440BX) Server Boards:

  • The card must be installed in PCI Slot three.
  • You must set the [SCSI Option ROM Scan] to Disable in BIOS setup.
  • Do not use the Symbios* SCSI Drivers for the operating system being loaded.

For additional information, see the Installation and Operating Summary of the AMI MegaRAID* Express 762 and the Installation and Operating Summary of the Mylex AcceleRAID* 200 RAID Controller.

This applies to:
Intel® T440BX Server Board
