Intel® T440BX Server Board
Configuration and Operating Summary for the Emergency Management Port

The Emergency Management Port (EMP) is the hardware end of the EMP console utility. It is an extension of Server Management that allows remote power up, power down, reboot, access to event logs and diagnostic information via the COM 2 port, which can be accessed via a serial-to-serial connection or with an external modem. To take advantage of EMP on the Intel® T440BX (NL440BX) server board, your power supply must support 0.8A (800mA) of +5v standby current.

This document is intended to serve as a Quick Start Guide to the configuration of the Emergency Management Port. The Product Guide and Technical Product Specification provide additional detailed information on EMP.
