Important: The new version of the Intel® L440GX+ Server Board now supports the Intel® Pentium® III processors 600E, 650, 700, 750, 800, and 850 MHz, as well as 1 GHz.
Four dual in-line memory module (DIMM) sockets support up to 1 GB of unbuffered 100 MHz SDRAM or 2 GB of registered 100 MHz SDRAM. See the tested memory list for additional information and memory vendors. Intel strongly recommends the use of ECC memory in the server environment.
The Intel® L440GX+ server board supports Intel® Pentium® II processors with a 100 MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) running at 350, 400 or 450 MHz, as well as 450, 500, 550, 550E, 600, 600E, 650, 700, 750, 800, and 850 MHz, and Intel® Pentium® III processors at 1 GHz.
The following charts will enable you to determine if the board you have will be able to support the processors you are planning on using.
Use the following table to determine the supported processors for your motherboard. Using the PBA, TA or AA numbers, find the Product Code for the board you have and then cross-reference with the second table to see if your processor is supported. You will need the BIOS version listed (#) or better to support the particular speed.
For example:
To support the Pentium® III 600E processor, the product code will need to be BOXL440GXC, BOXL440GXH, or BOXL440GXG and the BIOS will need to be version 9.2 or better.
