The Intel® N440BX Server Board has four dual in-line memory module (DIMM) sockets that support up to
512 MB of unbuffered 100 MHz SDRAM or 1 GB of registered 100 MHz SDRAM. The BIOS automatically detects the memory type,
size and speed. The N440BX Server Board supports the following memory features:
- 168-pin DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
- Unbuffered 100 MHz 72 bit with ECC SDRAM DIMMs
- Unbuffered 100 MHz 64 bit with Non-ECC SDRAM DIMMs
- Registered 100 MHz 72 bit with ECC SDRAM DIMMs
- Adhere to the PC/100 SDRAM DIMM 0.9 or 1.0 specification
- Adhere to the PC/100 Unbuffered DIMM specification
- 3.3v memory only
- Single or double-sided DIMMs
Intel strongly recommends the use of ECC memory in the server environment.
It does not matter which DIMM socket is populated first on the Intel N440BX Server Board. The board also will function properly with only one DIMM installed.
The Intel N440BX Server Board does not ship with any memory. See the tested memory list
for a list of vendors.
