The Intel® N440BX Server Board has four dual in-line memory module (DIMM) sockets that support up to 1 GB of SDRAM.
The BIOS automatically detects the memory type, size and speed through the Serial Presence Detect (SPD)
EEPROM on the DIMM devices. The N440BX Server Board supports the following memory features:
- 168-pin DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
- Unbuffered 66 MHz 72 bit with ECC SDRAM DIMMs
- Unbuffered 66 MHz 64 bit with Non-ECC SDRAM DIMMs
- Unbuffered 100 MHz 72 bit with ECC SDRAM DIMMs
- Unbuffered 100 MHz 64 bit with Non-ECC SDRAM DIMMs
- Registered 100 MHz 72 bit with ECC SDRAM DIMMs
- Adhere to the PC/100 SDRAM DIMM 0.9 or 1.0 specification
- Adhere to the PC/100 Unbuffered DIMM specification
- 3.3v memory only
- Single or double-sided DIMMs
Intel requires strict guidelines to be met before a DIMM vendor is put onto this tested memory list,
which includes a description of the testing levels. For more information, see
Critical Parameters for SDRAM DIMM Qualification.
