The Intel® Server System S7000FC4UR supports four memory riser boards. The system supports Fully Buffered Dual In-line (FBD) Registered DDR2-533 and DDR2-667 FBDIMM memory ECC Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory (SDRAM). Other industry naming conventions for DDR2-533 includes PC2-4200, and DDR2-667 includes PC2-5300.
The maximum memory capacity supported per Intel® Server System S7000FC4UR memory riser is 64GB, using eight sticks of 8GB FBDIMMs (2-Gbit x4, stacked DRAM technology devices). The maximum memory capacity for the Intel® Server System S7000FC4UR using four fully-loaded Intel® Server System S7000FC4UR memory risers is 256 GB.
The following memory features and sizes are supported:
- FBD-DDR2-533 and FBD-DDR2-667 in compliance with the standard FBD-DDR2 JEDEC DIMM Specification.
- DIMMs with capacity of 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB. Other DRAM sizes may function correctly but will not be validated.
- Minimum configuration is 512MB using one 512MB DIMM on one memory riser.
- Maximum Configuration is 256GB using eight 8GB DIMMs on four memory risers.
Population Rules for Memory Boards:
At least one memory board and one DIMM must be installed in the system in order for it to be functional. Supported memory board configurations are as follows:
- One memory board installed in Slot A
- Two memory boards installed in Slots A and B
- Four memory boards installed in Slots A, B, C, and D
