When booting to a USB floppy drive, there a couple of things to consider to prevent slow boot times.
You will experience a very slow boot time to a USB floppy drive:
- Check to make certain that Floppy Controller is disabled in the BIOS Setup program
- Check to make certain that Legacy USB is enabled in the BIOS Setup program
If you prefer not disabling the main Floppy Controller, just be aware that the boot time when using a USB floppy drive may be slower during the initial boot cycle. The server boards UHCI controller fully supports USB 1.1, but may result in slower USB floppy drive boot when the Floppy Controller is enabled.
