TA-813-1: Supported VRM modules [PDF]

Insertion of incorrect VRM may cause POST error beep codes when the system is powered up:

  • For Intel® Server Platform SR4850HW4, SR6850HW4, and BHWBASE beep code 1-5-4-4 may be heard.
  • For Intel® Server Platform SR4850/6850HW4M, SR4850/6850HW4S, and BHWBASEM beep code 1-5-2-3 may be heard.

The newer Intel® Server Platforms SR4850/6850HW4M and SR4850/6850HW4S can be identified by processor board PBA D22177-xxx, or mainboard D46527-xxx. These require one processor core VRM AHWVRMPM (D45948-xxx) for each processor used in sockets 3 and 4.

They also require a single processor cache VRM AHWVRMCM (D23903-xxx) per system, if using socket 3 or 4.

Older platforms will have processor board C51891-xxx and mainboard C54709-xxx.

Please refer to the TA-813-1 for more details.
