Virtual KB and Mouse Not Working When Remote Install of RedHat* Enterprise Linux

Symptom(s):
Unable to interact remotely with RedHat* Enterprise Linux OS installation process via Intel® Remote Management Module Virtual Server Control and Virtual Media features on the managing server.

Cause:
Using Intel® Remote Management Module Virtual Server Control and Virtual Media features to install RedHat* Enterprise Linux OS may not work as the PS2 keyboard and mouse are not responding to interact with the installation process. This symptom is due to RedHat* Enterprise Linux OS limitation to support USB 2.0 mode.

Solution:
As a workaround, the user can disable USB 2.0 under Advanced>USB Configuration>USB 2.0 Controller from the BIOS Setup utility on the remote server to which RedHat* Enterprise Linux OS will be installed. With USB 2.0 Controller disabled, the user should be able to install RedHat* Enterprise Linux OS remotely via Intel® Remote Management Module Virtual Server Control and Virtual Media features.

Operating System:
Red Hat* Enterprise Linux 4.0
