Intel has recently discovered that during the Initial production release the affected adapters were programmed with firmware version 1.10.02-0214 or earlier with a setting that incorrectly identifies the adapter and product code.

During POST the adapter expansion ROM will display the following message:
HA-0(Bus 12 Dev0) MegaRAID SAS PCI Express™ ROMB FW Package 6-0.1-0025.

For the SRCSATAWB controller the Option ROM should display:
HA-0(Bus 12 Dev0) Intel® SAS PCI Express™ SRCSATAWB FW Package 6-0.1-0025

For the SRCSASRB controller the Option ROM should display:
HA-0(Bus 12 Dev0) Intel® SAS PCI Express™ SRCSASRB FW Package 6-0.1-0030

For the SRCSASJV controller the Option ROM should display:
HA-0(Bus 12 Dev0) Intel® SAS PCI Express™ SRCSASJV FW Package 6-0.1-0025

The resident firmware is fully functional, however, Intel recommends updating the controller to the latest version available at http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/.
