When running a virtualized environment using VMWare* ESX* 3.x, Alt+F1 is normally used to bring up the VMWare* help menu.

On the Intel® Modular Server the F1 key brings up the local help screen for the remote KVM session. This prevents the functionality of Alt+F1 in VMWare, or using F1 in the BIOS

Intel has addressed this issue in firmware release 2.3.1.  Please update your system to this firmware to fix the KVM issue.
