Systems may report inaccurate thermal readings from a thermal sensor located on the server board.

Intel has provided a DOS (HECVER.EXE), or Windows 2000* (HECWIN2K.EXE) based utility to scan the server board for the appropriate board and sensor chip revisions. If a rev 4 ADM1026 chip is detected on a revision -607 board, the utilities will display "Not affected by manufacturing excursion". If a rev 7 ADM1026 chip is detected on a -607 board, the utilities will display the board PBA number, board serial number, the revision of the ADM1026 chip; this system should be sent back to Intel for replacement.
