This document serves as a guide when replacing an Intel® Integrated RAID (IIR) controller with another compatible Intel® RAID controller.
Assumptions:
- The Intel® RAID controller you are installing will replace an existing Intel RAID controller and the two controllers are feature equivalent. This means that the replacement controller has the required number of SCSI channels available, is technology compatible, and is slot compatible.

- The RAID volume structure used on the existing installation is supported by the replacement controller and the firmware installed on that controller.
