Seagate* Cheetah* 36XL Family of Drives Will Require a Seagate Firmware

Intel® has found that the Seagate* Cheetah* 36XL 80 pin SCA Connector family of drives listed in the document are incompatible with the following Intel® Server Platforms and Chassis, with the current Seagate drive firmware.

  • Intel® SRKA4 Server Board
  • Intel® SPKA4 Server Board
  • Intel® SC5000 Server Chassis
  • Intel® SR2000 Server Chassis
  • Intel® SR2050 Server Chassis
  • Intel® SR2100 Server Chassis
Symptoms include drive(s) failing to spin up, and the system rebooting at the time the drive is issued a spin command.
