This manual describes the Intel® Embedded Server RAID Technology.

The Intel® Embedded Server RAID Technology supports two Serial ATA ports, providing a cost-effective way to achieve higher transfer rates and reliability. Intel® Embedded Server RAID Technology supports RAID level 0 data striping for improved performance and RAID level 1 data mirroring for improved data reliability.

Addendum:
Disk Write Cache and Read Ahead Settings
You can enable or disable the disk write cache and read ahead policies for all the physical drives by setting an Adapter property . The setting is applied to all slots including empty slots.
Warning: Enabling the Disk Write Cache setting may cause data loss if the power fails.

To change the Disk Write Cache Setting, follow these instructions:
Step 1. Select Objects? Adapter and press <Enter>.
Step 2. On the Adapter menu, use the arrow key to move the cursor to Set Write Cache and press <Enter>.
The Write Cache dialog box displays.
Step 3. On the Write Cache menu, select Enable or Disable.
Step 4. At the prompt Change Write Cache Setting?, use the arrow key to select On or Off, then press <Enter>.

To change the Read Ahead Setting, substitute Read Ahead for Disk Write Cache.

You have to reboot for the changes to the write and read policies to take effect.

Note:  Version 5.28 and earlier offer the read-ahead and write-cache policy settings as part of each  physical drive property. (Under Objects? Physical Drive, choose the applicable drive.)
