BIOS P06 Conflicts with Intel® RAID Controller SRCU42X

Symptom(s):

After updating either an Intel® Server Board SE7320SP2 or an Intel® Server Board SE7525GP2 to BIOS P06, the system may no longer complete POST.

If the Intel® RAID Controller SRCU42X is removed, the system POSTs normally.

Cause:

Part of the BIOS information changed memory locations in BIOS P06, and now occupies some of the Option ROM space that the Intel RAID Controller SRCU42X used to occupy. The Intel RAID Controller SRCU42X does not check to see if information is present in the memory space it wants to occupy before it attempts to load its Option ROM.

Solution:

Use BIOS P07 or later from support.intel.com.

Operating System:
OS Independent

This applies to:
Intel® RAID Controller SRCU42X
Intel® Server Board SE7320SP2
Intel® Server Board SE7525GP2
