This contains important information for setting up and using your Intel® Entry Server Board SE7221BA1-E. Please review this information before assembling or using your server board.
Intel® Server Deployment Toolkit
The CD-ROM included with this server board uses the Intel® Express Installer to install drivers for Microsoft Windows* operating systems. For the Intel Express Installer to work properly your server system must meet the following conditions:
- Microsoft Windows operating system must be installed.
- In the BIOS Setup Boot Order menu, you must set the hard disk drive ahead of the CD-ROM drive. Access BIOS Setup by pressing the F2 key during POST.
At the time of manufacture, some Express Installer drivers were not available. If the driver you need is not available from the Express Installer interface, browse the CD for additional drivers or visit the product website.
Processor Support
The Intel Entry Server Board SE7221BA1-E supports one Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with an 800 MHz system bus (LGA-775) or one Intel® Celeron® D processor with an 533 MHz system bus (LGA-775). For the current list of supported processors.
Memory Support
Only Unbuffered ECC or non-ECC DDR2 DIMMs are tested and qualified by Intel or a designated memory test vendor are supported on this server board. A list of qualified DIMMs is available.

Note: The Intel® Entry Server Board SE7221BA1-E provides two PCI Express* x4 connectors, each routed with one PCI Express* x1 lane.

Note: The Intel Entry Server Board SE7221BA1-E video driver is not supported with Windows* XP Professional. The driver may be installed in Windows* XP manually through the Device Manager after the video driver files have been extracted from the compression utility.

Note: The Intel® Entry Server Board SE7221BA1-E does not support chassis intrusion detection due to an erratum. Header at location J6H1 is not populated, and chassis intrusion on this server board is not supported.

The Express Installer CD included in this box is updated periodically, but it may not have the most current BIOS, firmware, and operating system drivers. Download the latest software and drivers for this product.
