J5 (SCSI termination power jumper block)
Jumper on pins [A1-A2]
No jumper
Jumper on pins [B1-B2]
No jumper
Controller supplies termination power to channel A.
Controller does not supply termination power to channel A.
Controller supplies termination power to channel B.
Controller does not supply termination power to channel B.
J1 - SCSI bus termination jumper block: These jumpers control SCSI termination for both channels. Termination is off for the affected channel if the jumper is placed on pins [A1-A2] or [B1-B2]. Termination is on for the affected channel if a jumper is placed on [A2-A3] or [B2-B3]. If the jumper is removed, termination is off for the respective channel.
J4 - IOP mode select jumper block: This jumper is used to place the IOP in reset, which enables the flash chip to be programmed to recover resident firmware (FW). The jumper is installed on pins 1-2 to enable this function. During normal operation and during normal firmware updates, the jumper is installed on pins 2-3 (or removed totally).
J5 - SCSI termination power jumper block: At least one device has to supply +5 volts termination power to the SCSI bus. If the jumper is on pins [A1-A2] or [B1-B2], then the controller supplies termination power to the bus. If the jumper is not installed, the controller does not supply any power to the respective SCSI bus.
