The Intel® RAID Controller SRCU42X and Intel® RAID Controller SRCU42E do not support the use of 1GB memory modules due to limitations in memory space mapping within the RAID controller firmware as well as in the supporting RAID management utilities.
Intel® has determined that it is not feasible to add support for cache memory larger than 512MB for the Intel RAID Controller SRCU42X and Intel RAID Controller SRCU42E due to the extensive software stack modifications required.
