Processor Speeds
The Intel® SRPM8 MP Server Platform supports certain configurations of the Intel® Pentium® III Xeon® processors 700 and 900 MHz. The Intel® Pentium® III Xeon® processors 500 MHz and 550 MHz are not supported on the SRPM8 platform. Please refer to the Intel SRPM8 Boardset Technical Product Specification or its latest update for a list of supported/unsupported processors.
The processor core stepping can be determined using the Intel® Processor Frequency ID utility along with the Intel Pentium III Xeon processor Quick Reference Guide.
BIOS Requirements
BIOS version 21 or higher is required to support the Intel Pentium III Xeon processors 900 MHz. The latest BIOS for the SRPM8 server system is available on the for download.
Note: To ensure that the system has the correct Sensor Data Record (SDR) values for the installed processors, run the Sensor Data Update Utility when changing processor speeds or types or adding more processors to the system.
