Intel® Entry Storage System SS4200-E
Why doesn't the system show as a drive when I connect the eSATA cable?

The Intel® Entry Storage System SS4200-E will not be recognized as an eSATA target if connected to a computer eSATA host. A "target" is typically an eSATA drive. A "host" is a device that an eSATA drive is connected to. The SS4200-E works as an eSATA host, not as an eSATA target.

When an eSATA drive is attached to the SS4200-E, it will work in the same way as a USB drive. When the eSATA drive is connected, it is mapped to its own share and will be visible from the SS4200-E Storage Manager dashboard as a connected peripheral.
