Symptom(s):
Error appears "The License Key Does Not Match The Feature Key Of The Storage Module" when trying to register the additional software feature(s).
Cause:
This is a known issue as a result of one of the following scenarios:
- Replacement of Storage System's board resulting to a new default MAC address of the on-board Ethernet controllers.
- Installation of discrete Ethernet controller. The discrete Ethernet controller will take preference in PCI enumeration during system's boot-up process and becomes default Ethernet controller while on-board become secondary Ethernet controllers.
Solution:
These are possible scenarios to resolve this issue.
- If you have registered the software feature using on-board Ethernet controller and now installed a discrete Ethernet controller, you must request a replacement license from your Point of Purchace (PoP) by providing the default MAC address belonging to the discrete Ethernet controller.
- If you have registered the software feature using onboard Ethernet controller but have replaced your Storage System’s board due to board failure then you must request a replacement license from your PoP by providing the default MAC address of the new onboard Ethernet controller.
- If you plan to use an additional discrete Ethernet controller on a new Storage System and bought a software feature with it, you must ensure that when you order a license it must be tied to your system’s feature key (which is the MAC address of Default Ethernet controller, see scenario#1) to successfully register the software feature(s).
