Intel® Storage Server SSR212MC2 and SSR212MC2R manufactured before July 2007 do not support hot swap system fans. Systems manufactured July 2007 or after, provided hot swap fan capability.
Non-hot swap fan support:
- SSR212MC2 with MM# 890053
- SSR212MC2R with MM# 890027
Non-hot swap system fans have blue colored touch points, not green (which indicates hot swap).
For non-hot swap fan systems, the storage server may corrupt or loose data contained on the data hard disk drives, if a system fan is removed with power applied (hot swapped).
The workaround for this issue is to shut the system down to replace a failed system fan.
NOTE: If a non-hot swap fan is mistakenly removed with power applied to the system, make sure and power down the system before reinserting the fan.

- SSR212MC2R with MM# 891934
- SSR212MC2BR with MM# 893628 or later
- SSR212MC2RBR with MM# 893519 or later
