UPS is required to prevent data loss in the event of a power failure in dual controller storage systems

The dual controller Intel® Storage System SSR212PP2i and SSR212PP2f offer true high availability with mirrored write cache and redundant power supplies. In order to maintain this high availability and protect against data loss in the event of a power failure, it is necessary to utilize an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with the storage system. In the event of a power failure to both power supplies, the UPS allows the storage system to remain up and running by dumping cache to the vault drives, disabling write caching and maintaining power to Storage Processor A (SPA).

Only the following UPS order codes are approved for use with the Intel® Storage System SSR212PP2f and SSR212PP2i:
