Complete information about the SSM refer to the Software User's Manual.
Supported RAID Levels: Pairs of Serial ATA drives are used for RAID level 0, 1, and 10.
Quads of Serial ATA drives are used for RAID levels 5 and 50. The first quad would be a RAID 5 and each subsequent set of 4 Serial ATA drives turns the system into a RAID level 50. This is with 8, 12 or 16 drives in the system. Given that, 6, 10 and 14 drive configurations would not support RAID 50.
Number of Installed Serial ATA drives and RAID levels Supported:
- (2) drive group will support RAID 0/1
- (4) drive group will support RAID 0/5/10
- (6) drive group will support RAID 0/10
- (8) drive group will support RAID 0/10/50
- (10) drive group will support RAID 0/10
- (12) drive group will support RAID 0/10/50
- (14) drive group will support RAID 0/10
- (16) drive group will support RAID 0/10/50
Using Different RAID Levels: All drives in a single enclosure must be configured in to the same RAID level. System cannot support multiple RAID levels in a single enclosure.
