PXE booting on diskless systems may require a DOS 6.22 boot image

When using PXE to remote boot a DOS image on a system with no physical floppy diskette drive, the boot process may fail with error messages like:

"Type the name of the Command Interpreter (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM)"
or
 "Bad or Missing Command Interpreter"

If a version of DOS newer than 6.22 is used (such as Windows* 95 or Windows* 98 versions of DOS). This is due to a change in how DOS handles booting from floppy diskettes after release 6.22. Should you encounter this issue, you can eliminate the issue by creating the DOS image using DOS version 6.22.

This applies to:
Intel® Boot Agent
