Windows for Workgroups 3.11

Location of Driver: \WFW\E100.386

General Instructions

Note: If you are running Novell NetWare* on this workstation, see the Novell NetWare section of Hints and Tips below before continuing with this installation.

  1. Select the Network Setup icon in the Network Group.

  2. If you are replacing a previous LAN adapter, select the Remove button to delete that adapter.

  3. Click on the Add Adapter button.

  4. Choose Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter.

  5. Insert the adapter driver disk in drive A and specify the path A:\WFW for the location of the driver.

  6. Select the Intel® EtherExpress™ PRO/100 adapter.

  7. Specify the correct Line Speed. We recommend using Auto-Detect unless you are not going through a Hub and are connecting two PCs directly with a cross-over cable.

  8. Specify the correct Bus Type. Choose 2 for an EISA card or 5 for a PCI card. The default value is 5.

  9. Choose Close and restart your computer when prompted for changes to take effect.

  2. Novell NetWare

To install driver support for Windows for Workgroups and Novell NetWare on the same workstation, follow these steps:

    1. Set up the workstation to connect to NetWare using the DOS ODI client driver.

    2. Load the ODI driver and login to your NetWare server.

    3. Start Windows for Workgroups and set up the driver for the EtherExpress PRO/100 adapter by following the instructions shown above. When the driver is chosen, Windows for Workgroups detects the ODI driver is already loaded and automatically installs the appropriate support.

This applies to:
