These steps only work for network adapter cards that plug into a slot in your computer. If your network connection is built into the main board of your computer, there is no network adapter part number.
The part number is on a barcode label. The number is formatted with 6 digits, a hyphen, and 3 more digits like this 123456-001. The number following the hyphen is a minor revision number and is not needed to identify your adapter in the driver tables.

Note: Six digit numbers can appear in various locations on a network adapter. Only the six-digit number that is located on the paper bar code label will be found in the adapter driver tables. |
