Intel C++ Compiler 10.1 for Windows* provides improved support for manifest, a Visual Studio* 2005 feature. Prior to the Intel C++ Compiler 10.1 release, manifest files could only be embedded in the assembly and thus could not be accessed or changed. This is no longer the case with the Intel C++ Compiler 10.1 release.
You can use the Manifest Tool property pages, which are accessed through Project » Properties, to change project settings that affect the manifest.
This capability is particularly helpful in the Windows Vista* environment to address User Account Control (UAC) security issues. A UAC manifest can now be easily added to an Intel C++ Compiler 10.1 built application, in a similar fashion as with a Visual C++ built application.
