Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives (Intel® IPP) for Windows*
Fail to Build Intel® IPP Media Processing Samples

Symptom(s):

Building the Intel® IPP Media Processing sample fails; some applications report “PASSED”, but others report “FAILED”.

Solution(s):

The build log files are located in the sample code directory \media\_log\xxx. Please check the log files to identify the root causes of the failures. Some common reasons for the error are listed below:

  • Microsoft* DirectX* path is wrong in the sample batch file. This sample code requires Microsoft DirectX 9.0 SDK Update (February 2005) or later. Check the directx_sdk.bat file at \media and make sure the DXSDK environment variable is correctly set to the Microsoft DirectX installation directory.

  • The sample code is built with an old version Platform SDK. Microsoft* Visual C++ .NET* or Intel l® C++ Compiler is recommended to build this sample code. If you must build this sample code with Microsoft* Visual C++ 6.0*, you need to install Microsoft* Platform SDK for Windows* Server 2003 SP1.

  • The IPPROOT environment variable is not correctly set. Please make sure the IPPROOT environment variable points to the Intel IPP installation directory.

Operating System:
Windows* XP Professional, Windows Server* 2003
