Using Your Player
- Lines Appear in the Player Display When the Plastic Film is Removed
When the plastic film is removed from the Player's display, it releases a harmless amount of static electricity to the Player's display that results in the lines in the display.
The lines go away as you begin to use the Player.
- Volume and Equalization from Stereo Dock Change when Headphones are Connected to Player
When the Player is in the Stereo Dock and the headphones are connected to the Player, the audio signal from the Stereo Dock is controlled by the Player's controls.
When the Player is in the Stereo Dock and the headphones are connected to the Player and the volume indicator displays no ticks, the audio signal out of the Stereo Dock is muted.
When the Player is in the Stereo Dock and the headphones are NOT connected to the Player, the audio signal from the Stereo Dock is NOT controlled by the Player's controls.
When the Player is in the Stereo Dock and the headphones are NOT connected to the Player, use your home stereo or multi-media speakers to control the audio volume level and equalization.
- FM Radio Works in Stereo Dock Only When Headphones are Connected
The Player's headphones are the Player's FM radio antenna.
- Player Freezes When Playing Windows Media Supported* Audio Files Encoded At 44 Kbps
The Player does not support Windows Media Supported digital audio files that are encoded at 44 Kbps bit rate.
If you attempted to play a Windows Media Supported digital audio file encoded at 44 Kbps bit rate, you need to remove and re-insert your batteries in your Player to reset your Player. Refer to the online help for instructions on changing the batteries on your Player.
Transferring Digital Audio Files
- MusicMatch Jukebox* Transfers all Files in Current Directory
When you transfer selected digital audio files with MusicMatch Jukebox, it transfers all files in the current directory.
To transfer only selected files to your Player:
From the "Add Songs to Music Library" dialog box, ensure that "Include subdirectories" is not selected.
- The Transfer Size is Larger Than the File Size
In the Properties sheet for a digital audio file, the "Size" and "Transfer Size" values are not equal.
The "Size" value represents the actual size of the digital audio file. The "Transfer Size" value represents the size of the digital audio file plus ID3 tag information.
Internet Connection
- MusicMatch Jukebox Won't Connect to the CDDB Database
If you use Netscape* for your Internet connection and you connect to the Internet from behind a firewall, to connect to a CDDB database, you must configure Internet Explorer* to work with a proxy server.
To confirm that you're behind a firewall and to configure your proxy server correctly, contact your network administrator or Internet Service Provider.
Charging NIMH Batteries
- NIMH Batteries Don't Achieve a Maximum Charge
If you're playing digital audio files while charging your NiMH batteries in the Stereo Dock, you may lose up to one hour of charge capacity.
