Error about Log Files During Setup

Symptom(s):

  • Error about log files during setup
  • Error: "Disk full or write protected when writing to mmjblog.txt and altlog.txt."
  • Cause:
    The files MMJBLOG.TXT and ALTLOG.TXT are used by the MusicMatch diagnostics program, MMDIAG.EXE. MMDIAG.EXE runs silently in the background and will close just after MusicMatch closes. This is to ensure that potential crash data is captured in the diagnostic logs. The most likely cause of the error during is that the log files have been corrupted in some way.

    Solution:
    Delete the log files and they'll be recreated next time MusicMatch Jukebox is opened/used. By default, the files are found in
    C:\Program Files\MusicMatch\MusicMatch Jukebox\.

    If you are denied access when trying to delete the files, it's possible that MMDIAG.EXE is still running in the background and has the files locked. To solve this, restart the computer. After the restart, delete the files (do not first try to use MusicMatch Jukebox or run Setup). After the files have successfully been deleted, run Setup.
