Base Station RF Connection Problems

The base station can boot up into 'test mode' if you plug it into AC power before connecting the USB cable to the computer. Sometimes in test mode, the base station does not connect properly to the wireless devices. Symptoms of this problem include:

  • Can't connect mouse, keyboard or gamepad to the base station
  • Base station times out after 3 minutes when trying to connect to mouse, keyboard or gamepad
  • Wireless devices don't work
  • Wireless devices don't appear as connected in the family control panel
To fix this problem:
  1. Keep the computer turned on and the base station connected to USB.
  2. Power cycle the base station by unplugging the power cable and then plugging it back in.
  3. Perform the connect sequence again (press the connect button on the wireless device then press the connect button on the base station).
