E4000 and E2000 Sequence Boxed Processor Thermal Solutions

The Intel® Core™2 Duo processors E4400 / E4300 and the Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core processors 2140 / 2160 ship with a RoHS compliant fan-heatsink with an Intel part number of D95263-001. Some things to know about this fan-heatsink are the following:

This ATX thermal solution was designed for and should only be used with the desktop processors listed above.

  • It is not backward compatible with any Pentium® 4 or Pentium® D processor fan-heatsinks and should not be used on Pentium 4 or Pentium D processors.

  • You should also not use the older Pentium 4 or Pentium D boxed processor fan-heatsinks on these  processors.

This fan-heatsink utilizes TC-1996 Thermal Interface Material (TIM). Intel will be offering the TIM replacement in a syringe for the Intel® Core™2 Duo E4300 / E4400 and for Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core E2140 / E2160 desktop processors. Be sure to clean the fan-heatsink and processor integrated heat spreader of any debris or previous applied material prior to reapplication of the TIM.

  • You may order TIM replacement kits through Intel Customer Support. The Intel part number is D54816-001. For contact information for your region, click here.
  • This part may also be ordered online at Industry Education’s* pay-for-spares online store. Choose "Desktop Processor Parts" from the left navigation menu and then select the "Thermal Interface Material" entry.
  • A replacement fan-heatsink for these processors may also be ordered online. Please note that the fan-heatsink listed here is different than the one that shipped in the original box. This substitute fan-heatsink will work fine with these processors. The link below provides more information on this. Fan/Heatsink for 775 Land Intel® Core™2 Duo Desktop Processors
