StorageExpress™ Systems
v2.0: Label Printer Doesn't Work After Upgrade

Follow these steps to enable label printing:

  1. Be sure TAPESVR.NLM is unloaded on the StorageExpress™ II system.
    At the system console prompt type: unload TAPESVR.

  2. Edit the SYS:\ARCSERVE.6\NLM\TAPESVR.CFG file and add the following:
    [CONFIG]
    LABELPRINTER=ENABLED
    PRINTERPORT=COMx

    ([CONFIG] does not need to be added if it already exists)
    (COMx can be COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4. For the StorageExpress™ system use COM1.)

  3. Re-load TAPESVR at the system console prompt. Type: Load TAPESVR.

Note: After the tape is formatted, the label is printed. Since the formatting and printing are done in the same thread, the formatting/printing process may be slower than in Central Console.

Note: Only "Smart Label Printer Plus", manufactured by Seiko* Instruments (models SLP 1000, SLP 1000P, and SLP 1100), is currently supported by the StorageExpress system.

This applies to:
StorageExpress™ Systems
