Symptom
Btrieve Error 20 occurs when ARCserve Manager is loaded. This error prevents the ARCserve Manager application from loading.

Description
The BTI.INI file in the C:\WINDOWS\ directory contains parameters that conflict with the needs of the ARCserve Manager application.

Solution

• Rename the BTI.INI file to BTI.OLD. Reload ARCserve Manager at the workstation.

OR

• If other applications on the workstation rely on the BTI.INI file, rename the 'Local' and 'Requestor' parameters, within the file, under the [Btrieve] heading. This can be done with any text editor. Set the parameters as defined in red below.

  [Btrieve] Tasks= Local=No Requestor=Yes Thunk= Verbose= Chkparms= After editing the file, reload ARCserve Manager at your workstation.
