The Intel® Viiv™ software version 1.6 upgrade-only file requires Intel Viiv software version 1.5 or higher to be installed. This PC does not have the required Intel Viiv software.

The Intel Viiv software 1.6 upgrade-only file upgrades your Intel Viiv software if you had either:

• Intel Viiv Software version 1.5 previously installed on Windows* XP Media Center Edition 2005 and you upgraded to Windows Vista* using the upgrade in-place option (link to new cms doc), or
• Intel Viiv Software version 1.6 was previously installed on Windows Vista

If your PC does not meet these requirements, the 1.6 upgrade-only file will not install.

Note: Intel Viiv Software version 1.6 is compatible with Windows Vista only.

Note: If you upgraded to Windows Vista using the upgrade in-place option ^† and you had Intel Viiv software 1.0.x, you do not need to upgrade to Intel Viiv software 1.6. However, if you plan to use a Intel® Viiv™ technology verified networked media devices such as a digital media device, you will need to upgrade to Intel Viiv software version 1.6.
