How you upgrade the operating system affects your access to Intel® Viiv™ software.
Two upgrade installation options* are available when you upgrade to Windows Vista*. The upgrade in-place option allows you to retain the Intel Viiv software functionality. The clean install option removes Intel Viiv software.
If you upgraded to Windows Vista using the upgrade in-place option and you had Intel Viiv software 1.0.x, you do not need to upgrade to Intel Viiv software 1.6. However, if you plan to use an Intel® Viiv™ technology verified networked media device such as a digital media device, you will need to upgrade to Intel Viiv software version 1.6.
If you installed the upgrade using the clean install option and you want to continue to use the Intel Viiv software, you need to install the full versions of the software which may be available through the Intel® Viiv™ technology-based PC manufacturer or by purchasing a networked media device (such as a digital media adapter) that is compatible with Windows Vista.
